Can you share a bit about your business and what you do?

My full-time job is actually a counselor at a high school. I have my master’s degree in counseling psychology & clinical counseling. However, no matter what I did for work, I enjoyed most of my free time creating something in the kitchen. Two AM mainly focuses on decorated cookies, with other special confections here and there.

When and why did you decide to start your new business? 

I’ve been experimenting in the kitchen for as long as I could remember. However, decorating cookies started in October 2020. In a pandemic, you have more free time than you usually would. I definitely used it to my advantage to try out something I ended up falling in love with. Decorating cookies is actually therapeutic for me, and I love being able to think creatively, especially being given the opportunity to design custom orders.

What do you love most about running your own business?

Being able to do what I love and do what I love (yes, I said it twice, haha). Counseling is such a passion of mine. It’s something I plan to do for a long time. However, I’ve always been drawn to create something in the kitchen. It brings me so much happiness to create something that people enjoy. Starting ‘Two AM’ means I can create what I want when I want — without giving up my full-time job.

What are your overall goals for your business?

To be honest, I don’t have any long-term goals for ‘Two AM’ at the moment. With this business being so new, my short-term goals would be to build a portfolio and see where it takes me. I love decorating cookies and hope I can branch out to serve your upcoming special occasion. 😉

For funsies, what’s your favorite product you’ve created so far? 

Although my first round of sales, my Christmas Box is still my all-time favorite.

“Two AM” was created because these are initials that both my mom and I share. She’s the reason I fell in love with cooking/baking. Her Kapampangan (Filipino) roots developed this bond we have to share recipes and experience new things. When I was younger, my mom always wanted to start her own catering company. Still, she never had the time being a single mother working multiple jobs. Two AM is a tribute to her.
