Can you share a bit about your business and what you do?

Illustrnai was digitally created and founded by a digital illustrator named Cenai. Digital illustrations are made with minimal design, positive messages, and relatable situations. A continuous theme of different hues of brown, Black women and men representing their culture and the positive and negative reality of life.

When and why did you decide to start your new business?

Illustrnai was established in May of 2020. The business started based on the tragedy and mourning of Black women and men in the community. The goal is to voice my opinion, share my knowledge, and highlight the women and men in my community.

What do you love most about running your own business?

What I love most about running my own business is the schedule, creative freedom, and outcome. Utilizing a schedule to accomplish my goals is key for time management, organization, and balance. Illustrating with creative freedom can be a positive and negative trait due to overthinking or designing too many illustrations at once, however, illustrations can be created without rules or restrictions. The outcome of my illustrations being continuously loved and valued by my amazing following of supporters is the best.

What are your overall goals for your business?

The overall goals for my business are to work with (Black) businesses that support and value what I stand for, create illustrations that are out of my comfort zone, reach milestones often, continuously grow my business, and collaborate with small + large (Black) business owners, companies, and influencers.

Currently, what’s your favorite piece of work you’ve created… ever?

Basking In My Royalty. This illustration is currently my favorite piece of work that I have created… ever.
