Can you share a bit about your business and what you do?
Daily Piece is on a mission to create an inclusive space for healing, supporting your inner journey and inner peace. We [just launched] our affirmation card deck that includes 30 affirmation cards, all uniquely illustrated with an affirmation & supporting positive statements. It is also our first product!
When and why did you decide to start your new business?
I started Daily Piece out of a sheer desire to foster more creativity and collective healing in my life. Personally, in the last year, it’s been a definite shift with the pandemic and not being able to connect, heal and interact with people. I’m all about connecting, creating, and healing with people through events. I wanted to create something that allowed for that during a time where we can’t be together.
I kept on having dreams about affirmations. Something made me feel called to create these. I own a couple of affirmation card decks but realized most of the wellness industry is predominantly white women. I wanted to create a product that was solely for BIPOC people and their inner peace journey. Sure, Goop and Urban Outfitters have affirmation card decks, but are they made for and designed by us? No, not really.

What did you learn about yourself or the biggest lesson you learned in general while putting everything together?
I learned SO MUCH about myself starting this creative endeavor. One is, I really love working with people and creatives. I’m so happy that Necole Cayanan agreed and wanted to work with me on my created affirmations’ illustrations and designs. When I’m in a group, it gives me much more accountability than when I do it myself.
Another thing I learned is, I overanalyze everything and naturally feel I need everything to be perfect. When this happens, I give into way more procrastination. But I have to remind myself that progress and consistency are the keys to success, not perfection.
What do you love most about running your own business?
I love that there’s so much learning potential in running your own business. I’ve always worked in small teams or startup-like companies where you wear multiple hats. I love learning all the aspects of starting a business, running it, promoting it, and keeping it afloat. I also like that I have the final say in everything because I’m usually executing campaigns and not overseeing them for work.
What are your overall goals for your business?
Overall, my goals are to create a community of equally aligned people to prioritize personal growth and self-care. I plan to make more wellness tools, resources, and partnerships that are purpose-driven for anyone to create an intentional life filled with gratitude, joy, and empowerment. This may not be a very-businessy answer, but to me – authenticity and intention yield the prosperity that I set out to attain.
Daily Piece is on a mission to increase your peace, align with abundance & grow in gratitude through wellness tools and resources. Daily Piece is created by two filipinx women from the San Francisco Bay Area, Jenilee de la Fuente, and Necole Cayanan.
