Meet the Digital Illustrator: Lizette of Lizette Ann

Can you share a bit about your business and what you do?

I mainly create digital illustrations and turn them into prints and stickers! I also do lettering and graphic design. I also like to make macrame pieces in my spare time and sometimes sell them in my online store!

When and why did you decide to start your new business?

So it started all because of the pandemic. Since we had to stay home, I bought supplies to do little fun learning activities with my toddler at home. I bought dowels and realized I purchased the wrong size when I got them in the mail. So I looked up crafts I can make with them, and I saw that I can make macrame! It’s also something I’ve been wanting to get into, so I started that hobby with the extra free time I had.

I started selling that, and orders began to pick up every week. And at the time, I was inspired to start illustrating again after a long hiatus. It wasn’t until a friend commented on one of my posts that she was interested in buying a print. And that’s when I started selling my illustrations! Eventually, someone asked if I can make stickers, so I researched how to do it and realized I had everything I needed at home.

Stickers are my most popular items and gained a lot of attention on Instagram. This was all unexpected and not really planned. Basically, this small business was something I started out of the blue and just went with the flow!

What do you love most about running your own business?

I absolutely love the support. I’ve met other small biz owners, mainly women my age, and it was so easy to connect with them! Everyone is soooo supportive. I also have repeat customers who are the sweetest and most supportive people ever. Mind you, I’ve never met most of these people in person, but their support is definitely something else.

What are your overall goals for your business?

I want to get out of my comfort zone this year. I was to sell at more markets (I’ve only sold at one so far) and eventually sell some of my stuff at local stores.

For funsies, what’s your favorite product you’ve created so far?

It’s hard to say my favorite, but I think I enjoy doing custom portraits and turning them into stickers for my clients. They always turn out so awesome! And it’s so personal.

If someone may want to reach out for a collab or another service, what else can you provide?

I can do custom orders, i.e., illustrations, logos, flyer designs, business card designs, poster designs, etc.
